Jacob also provided some additional points for my discussion section where were very helpful! Ashley, 4 lessons with Jacob Knows his statistics!!! Explained me the different aspects of the program for data analysis and provided a thorough explanation through out. He helped me compute my analysis in SPSS. Thanks, Jacob! Melissa, 3 lessons with Jacob Great SPSS tutor I am glad to have met him and learned from him. Jacob was extremely patient and helpful by going above and beyond my expectations of the services provided on Wyzant. I also have first hand knowledge of the social and personality literature. I've been teaching psychology for several years and have developed my own curriculum for a personality class. My job keeps my up to date with statistical topics, and I have been using R and SPSS for years now. I genuinely enjoy helping people with stats. I've helped students with everything from remedial basic stats, to advanced machine learning topics. While in grad school I worked as a statistics consultant for other grad students. I have experience distilling complex or confusing statistical topics into something that people can digest.Įxperience. Unlike a lot of people who have experience with statistics, I remember also being just as confused as anyone when I was first learning. I'm here as a tutor because I miss just sitting down with people and helping them to understand stats (I also miss hearing about everyone's research!), and I want to augment my current employment by helping you out.

I gave consultations on: R, SPSS, Mplus, basic and advanced statistics, and experimental methodology. While I was a grad student at UCR I also worked as a statistics consultant for other grad students (where I got rave reviews!). These days I'm working as the senior research analyst for an educational assessment company. Along the way I gained extensive knowledge in structural equation modeling, multilevel (or hierarchical linear) modeling, and other techniques that are useful in quantitative psychology. My dissertation focused on the use of discrete latent variables in the analysis of nested data (you can find my dissertation here: ). I then started grad at the University of California, Riverside where I specialized in quantitative psychology. I did my undergrad at the University of Minnesota, and graduated in 2014 as a psychology major.
